Certification Process for Our Credit Counselors
Each of our Credit Counselors is certified by the Center For Financial Certifications, a division of The Institute for Financial Literacy, which offers the Certified Personal Finance Counselor independent training program. The curriculum entails several hours of coursework about the consumer credit industry and the principles of effective credit counseling. Counselors are required to take seven proctored examinations. Six of the examinations test the Counselor's knowledge and understanding of facts. The seventh examination tests the Counselor's ability to interpret and apply these facts to actual case studies. The entire certification process is conducted under the control of an Independent Advisory Board comprised of leading experts in the banking and credit card industries. Certification is valid for one year. The Counselor is required to pass an examination each year thereafter in order to be recertified annually.
Being certified allows our Counselors to provide you with the highest quality of credit counseling services, education, and debt management options.
